JVZoo VS ThriveCart VS PayKickStart
Gah. I don’t like writing this post, because it’s going to get a load of people mad at me. People who created the systems, people who use the system.
I also want to point out that this isn’t about hating on any one system. Each has their own advantages and disadvantages and simply, they aren’t like each other.
This review is your fault. Well, kind of. I’ve had a LOT of questions, and please excuse me if I’ve not got back to you.
My point being, to answer these questions, I need to be clear.
1. JVZoo
JVZoo has gone from strength from strength and it has some clear advantages.
Advantages:
- Biggest pool of affiliates for those selling via launches
- Fantastic marketplace which will get you a handful of extra sales
- Product Of The Day Award
- Nice funnel visualisation
Disadvantages:
- 5% fee taken from all sales
- Requires buyers to checkout and login to Paypal for every sales, front end, upgrade or downsell
- No physical products or bump order upgrades
- Primitive cart abandon recovery
2. ThriveCart
ThriveCart is not officially publicly available, but its something many have used and recommended.
Advantages:
- One time, lifetime free (until it goes public)
- 1-click credit card based upsells and more advanced Paypal upsells than JVZOO
- Physical product sales
- Bump offers
- No fees
- Quick upgrade page builder (if you don’t have funnel page builder software)
Disadvantages:
- No big affiliate lead launches or market place
- No Paypal 1-click upsells
3. PayKickStart
The second biggest affiliate platform, with major feature support for a new Paypal API advantages.
Advantages:
- Great stats
- Paypal 2.0 1-Click Upgrades and Credit Card 1-click Upsells
- No percentage fees
- Bump orders
- Physical Products (although not quite as good as ThriveCart in my opinion
Disadvantages:
- Monthly or yearly fee
- Reference transaction technology that means you must keep your PayKickstart account
My Opinion
If you are looking to launch products in a JVZoo style, but you want to make more money thanks to better funnels, higher conversions and bump offers, then you should go with PayKickStart.
If you are launching internal products, or selling physical products then I recommend ThriveCart.
If you are just starting out and you are ok to lose 20-40% of revenue in return for paying nothing down, go with JVZoo.

Q. Do you take a per-transaction fee?

Whether we like it or not, the industry is changing and it will continue to evolve. Platforms and ‘shopping carts’ come and go.
